Musgrove Park Hospital
Musgrove Park Hospital desperately needs a new Paediatric and Maternity Unit. Successive governments have recognised this, but it continues to be kicked down the road, now until 2033. 'Temporary' buildings built during the Second World War, with leaking roofs and 30 degree heat in the summer, are not the hallmarks of top quality healthcare, staff and patients deserve better. I am campaigning for action in the interim, as well as trying to accelerate the funding, 2033 is too late.

It was announced that the Paediatric and Maternity Unit funding would be delayed into the 2030s, this is not good enough and I have called for a meeting with the Government to discuss urgent interim measures.
Following the budget announcement on funding for the NHS I spoke in Parliament about the need for some of this money to be used for the Paediatric and Maternity Unit.
I responded to the potential cancellation of the new Paediatric and Maternity Unit as all projects part of the 'new hospitals scheme' were put under review, and stated that patients and staff deserve better.
I brought up the situation at Musgrove Park Hospital in Parliament, including, the constant promises, failure to deliver, and question marks over the next steps. I also visited the hospital and met with the NHS Trust.
